Sometimes what happen when you are using dial up connection for internet but some background application may access your internet automatically so check that application there is simple method
follow steps
1. open command prompt and run as administrator(open start and type cmd then run as administrator)
2.after open cmd
type command "netstat -b" without quotes

Note:make sure internet connection is active means your computer is connected to internet.
